Hi, I’m Stu Behan - currently Technical Lead at StackOne, working on backend architecture, applied AI, and the plumbing that lets AI agents actually do things in the real world.
StackOne is integration infrastructure for AI agents: a single MCP server that gives an agent OAuth-managed access to hundreds of enterprise systems, with responses shaped to stay token-efficient - full payloads to your app, lean tool sets for the agent. I’m part of the team building that. Day to day I own architecture decisions across Falcon, our execution engine that handles auth, retries, errors and data transformation, and I care a lot about performance, reliability, and what it’s actually like to build against us - alongside mentoring the engineers around me through design sessions and reviews.
I joined StackOne as a backend engineer back in 2023 (the first hire), building the systems that talk to hundreds of third-party APIs without falling over: concurrency and rate-limiting with Redis and BullMQ, caching that degrades gracefully, event-driven workflows, and a lot of developer tooling and tests to keep it all clean and tidy. Before that I was a Technical Solutions Engineer at Yieldify, building TypeScript solutions for eCommerce clients and the internal tooling to support them.
These days a fair bit of what I make is for the way I actually work - tooling for AI coding agents. Stack Nudge pings me when an agent needs my attention, StackVox is an offline text-to-speech engine (it’s what reads these posts aloud), and I look after a few internal Claude Code plugins.
This is where I write things down - mostly notes on AI-assisted development and developer workflow, with the occasional detour into whatever I’ve been measuring (like whether my plug-in hybrid is actually cheaper to run on electric).
